Parsi treats the secret alliance between Israel and Iran of the era 1951-79, as well as the nature of tension between the Islamic republic and the Jewish state that followed. The review examines some of Parsi’s main arguments, such as the primacy of national(ist) interest in the Iranian foreign policy regardless of the regime in power or the notion of a shift for the worse in Israel-Iranian relations which pre-dated the Islamic revolution of 1979
