    Zeolite and zeotype molecular sieves attracted high attention as the most important industrial catalysts in oil refining and petrochemistry. In the last decades a particular attention has been devoted to the investigation of the catalytic properties of zeolites in synthesis of fine chemicals or their intermediates. This overview highlights interesting examples of catalytic behavior of zeolites in acid and redox reactions leading to important products for pgharmaceutical or fragrance industry. Main attention is paid to the role of the type and concentration of active sites and zeolite shape selectivity on the resulting activities and selectivities in different reactions. Particularly, acylation reactions of various aromatic hydrocarbons are discussed, oxidation properties of zeolites containing Ti and Sn in epoxidations or Baeyer-Villiger reactions are summarized, and different C-C coupling reactions as well as examples of ship-in-the-bottle catalysis are provided.

    Zeolity a mezoporézní molekulová síta představují velmi důležité průmyslové katalyzátory používané především při zpracování ropy a v petrochemii. V posledních několika letech je pozornost upřena také na využití jejich vlastností pro syntézu tzv. chemických specialit nebo jejich meziproduktů. Práce přináší přehled zajímavých kyselých a redox reakcí katalyzovaných zeolity pro přípravu léčiv, vonných a chuťových látek apod.
