Článek se zabývá motivem skafandru v pracích meziválečné avantgardy, sleduje jeho významové proměny v dadaismu, konstruktivismu, poetismu i v surrealismu a ukazuje, jak se na jedné straně stal příkladem technické dokonalosti a na straně druhé byl vztažen k oblasti nevědomí.

The article deals with the iconographical topic of the diving suit in works of the inter-war avant-garde. It acquired various meanings in Dadaism, Constructivism, Poetism and Surrealism. On the one hand, it was an icon of technical perfection, on the other hand, it became an example of the uncanny.
