This contribution focuses on identification and provenance studies of building materials used for construction of the cathedral during the 14th century. Masonry of the cathedral was made of sandstone blocks and lime mortar. Pinnings of slate chips were found in the joints placed to assist with the setting of stones. The interest of the studies focused on the mineral resources for masonry units.

Příspěvek se zabývá původem stavebních surovin použitých na stavbu gotické části chrámu sv. Víta ve 14. století. Zdivo chrámu je z neomítaných pískovcových kvádrů a vápenné malty s břidlicovými úlomky ve spárách, které napomáhaly uložení kamenů. Výzkumná studie se především zaměřila na surovinové zdroje použitých pískovců.
