The first observation of chromosomally encoded small antisense RNA in Corynebacterium glutamicum is reported. Synthesis of this regulatory ArnA RNA is increased after heat shock. ArnA RNA was found to overlap the untranslated region of the transcript of the cg1935 gene coding for transcriptional regulator
