The described fluidic “valve-less“ pumps operate without mechanical moving or deformed components, but they actually do contain valvesused to rectify the alternating flow which is generated by an actuator performing reciprocating motion. The rectification is less efficient than with the mechanofluidic valves, the selling point being theirexcellent suitability for micromanufacturing, long life - not endangeredby breakages of springs - and suitability for operation at high working frequencies.

Popisovaná čerpadla označovaná jako "bezventilová" ve skutečnosti mají ventily k usměrňování střídavého průtoku generovaného aktuátorem, ale nemají mechanické pohyblivé nebo deformované součástky. Usměrňování je proto méně účinné, ale přinášejí výhodu vhodnosti k mikrofabrikaci, dlouhé životnosti – neomezené zlomením pružin – a schopnosti pracovat při vysokých frekvencích.
