Im Absatz werden Konstruktionen der orientalischen Alterität in der böhmischen frühneuzeitlichen Reiseliteratur analysiert, vor allem die Representationen des Nahen Ostens sowie des Heiligen Landes. Die Verfasserin fokusiert auf die Imagination des islamischen Orientes im Rahmen der sog. biblischen Topographie. Die folgenden analytischen Ebenen werden im Absatz thematisiert: Auf Grund welcher Subtexte, Argumentation und figurativen Sprache ist die orientalische Alterität in Pilgerberichten konstruiert worden? Wie transformierte sich der bilbische Alteritätsmodus in böhmischen frühneuzeitlichen Reiseberichten? Wie ist der islamische Orient ausserhalb der biblischen Topographie performiert worden?

The paper focuses on discourses of othering (constructions of Oriental alterity) in the early modern Bohemian travel writing, especially in travelogues on the Near East and Holy Land. A special attention is paid to the imagination of the Islamic Orient withint the so-called "bliblical topographies". The author concentrates on the following questions: On which subtexts, arguments and figurative speech was based the othering in early modern pilgrim travel literature? How was this mode of othering transformed within the 16th century? How was the Islamic Orient performed beyond the the "biblical topographies"?

Příspěvek analyzuje utváření orientálního cizího v bohemikálních cestopisech raného novověku, v nichž se popisují cesty po Blízkém východě a Svaté zemi. Zváštní pozornost je věnována imaginaci islámského Orientu v rámci tzv. biblické topografie. Rozbor se soustředí na otázky, pomocí jakých subtextů, argumentů a figurativní řeči se v poutnických relacích utvářelo orientální cizí, jak se tento modus alterity transformoval v průběhu 16. století a jak se islámský orient reprezentoval mimo rámec biblické topografie.
