Hledání skrytého pokladu přináší antologii komentovaných překladů ze středověkého arabského súfijského písemnictví a představuje tři jeho ústřední „žánry“: biografie (či hagiografie) velkých súfijských mistrů (tabaqát), slovníky odborného pojmosloví súfijů (istiláhát) a pojednání o mystické Cestě, jejích etapách, stavech a stupních. Ve všech třech okruzích byly vybrány ukázky z těch nejautoritativnějších reprezentantů daného žánru. Výběru ukázek vždy předchází teoretické úvodní pojednání na dané téma, které příslušný žánr písemnictví představuje v širším historickém i duchovním kontextu islámské mystiky. Český čtenář měl dosud možnost seznámit se ve své mateřštině s četnými překlady klenotů perské mystické poezie, převyprávěnými „příběhy dervišů“ či několika málo teoreticky koncipovanými pracemi mapujícími historii a učení islámské mystiky. Jakožto kolekce komentovaných pramenných textů ke studiu učení súfijů představuje předkládaná publikace první počin svého druhu v českém jazyce.

Hledání skrytého pokladu (“The Quest for the Hidden Treasure“) provides an anthology of Medieval Arabic Sufi texts in commented Czech translations. It presents the three main genres of these texts, e.g. the biographies (or hagiographies) of the great Sufi masters (tabaqat), Sufi terminology dictionaries (istilahat) and the treatises of the mystical Path and its stages, states and degrees. Extracts by the most authoritative representatives were selected to give a subtle view of each of the genres. Before each chapter, there is a comprehensive introduction addressing the genre in a broader historical and spiritual context of Islamic mysticism. Only Persian mystical poetry, “the stories of derwishes” and a few works covering the history and teaching of Islamic mysticism were published in Czech so far. The present book, as a collection of source texts for Sufi studies, is the first of its kind in the Czech language.
