In a common practice of materials research of paintings, the findings of elements associated with modern pigments, such as Ti, As, Cr or Zn indicate the 19th or 20th century paints. Here we show that all these elements could be found also as geochemical admixtures of natural historical pigments.

Při běžném materiálovém průzkumu historických malířských děl jsou nálezy prvků známých z moderních pigmentů, jako Ti, As, Cr nebo Zn formálně interpretovány jako součásti přemaleb. Zde je ukázáno, že všechny tyto prvky mohou být také geochemickými příměsemi přírodních historických pigmentů.
