Účelem konference bylo 1) shrnout institucionální, ústavní a právní důsledky, které vyplynuly z přistoupení ČR do EU, a 2) vyhodnotit 4 roky zkušeností členství. Pozornost byla zaměřena zejména na proces formulace postoje ČR v EU, implementaci unijního práva ve členském státě, jakož i jeho soudní a správní aplikaci; na závěr byla analyzována i interakce mezi ČR a institucemi EU (Evropský parlament, unijní soudy).

The conference aimed 1) at summarizing institutional, constitutional and legal impacts of the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union and 2) at assessing a 4-year Czech experience with the full EU Membership. The attention was focused especially at the formation of the Czech position within the EU decision-making process, implementation of EU law in a Member State and also its judicial and administrative application; finally, direct interaction between the Czech Republic and selected EU institutions (European Parlament, EU courts) was analysed.
