The study is dealing with relation between phenomenological and structural conception of language, namely with intentional and differential theory of meaning. The study is focusing on Maurice Merleau-Ponty's attempt at synthesis of both theories and is asking a question to what degree that synthesis succeeded.

Studie se zabývá vztahem mezi fenomenologickou a strukturální koncepcí jazyka v různých fázích obou hnutí, a zejména vztahem intencionální a diferenční teorie významu. Soustřeďuje se na pokus Maurice Merleau-Pontyho o syntézu obou teorií a klade otázku, do jaké míry se Merleau-Pontymu tato syntéza skutečně podařila.
