Autofluorescence spectra of human colon tissue are reported by using a laboratory photoluminescence spectrometer. Wet microscopic mounts of healthy colon mucosa are examined and compared with spectra of colon mucosa affected by adenocarcinoma. The diagnosis of adenocarcinoma was verified by using clinical and histology means.
