This paper shows results of experimental investigation of the interaction of siloxane and TiOTi-doped siloxane gel layers containing Cu-ephedrine with carbon dioxide and nitrogen. For this purpose the layers were applied on silica fibers. Spectral and temporal changes of the output optical power from the fiber induced by the interaction of the layers with the above gases were measured. Relatively lower spectral changes were found in the case of TiOTi-doped siloxane layers containing Cu-ephedrine.
