    Chronic myeloid leukaemia is a clonal haematopoietic stem cell disorder characterized by the Philadelphia chromosome. Ph chromosome is the result of a reciprocal translocation, BCR-ABL, which encodes bcr-abl nonreceptor tyrosine kinase. The deregulated kinase activity of bcr-abl is then causally linked to malignant transformation.
