Příspěvek v úvodu shrnuje v historickém přehledu od roku 1918 vývoj nejdůležitějších politických změn v Československu a jejich dopad na trestní právo. Dále se zabývá problémem právní kontinuity v Československu po roce 1989 a trestáním provinění z období před rokem 1989.

By way of introduction the paper gives a historical survey, starting in 1918, of the most important political changes in Czechoslovakia and their impact on penal law. Further it deals with the problem of legal continuity in Czechoslovakia after 1989 and the punishment of the offenses from the period before 1989.
