The image formation in a scanning electron beam device is governed by the primary beam deflection in two directions and the outgoing data are two-dimensional. Nevertheless, the experiment deals with the interaction of electron, described by six coordinates of its position and velocity, with the specimen crystal providing the co-ordinate system. This short review system is to discuss the possibilities to increase the dimensionality of data.
