The synthesis of monomers (.I.S./I.)-1, (.I.R./I.)-1 and 2 derived from (5'.I.S./I.)-, (5'.I.R./I.)-2'-deoxy-thymidine-5'-.I.C./I.-phosphonic acids and 2',5'-dideoxythymidine-5'-.I.C./I.-phosphonic acid was elaborated. The protection of the 5'-hydroxyl by the methoxycarbonyl group was a key step of the synthesis.
