Enantiomerically pure (.I.S./I.)-(+)-linalool was the main constituent in extracts of the cephalic secretions of virgin females, mated females, freshly emerged males, and patrolling males of the solitary bee .I.Colletes cunicularius./I.. Number of male bees attracted in field tests by (.I.S./I.)-(+)-linalool was higher than by (.I.R./I.)-(-)-linalool or the racemate.
