The aim of the work was to study the ability of selected plants to accumulate heavy metals in their tissues. Besides .I.in vitro./I. expositions, a pilot-scale phytoremediation experiment was carried out at the polluted industrial area (Zn - 75 000mg/kg), (Pb - 16 000mg/kg), (Cr - 590 mg/kg), (Cd - 90 mg/kg) and (Cu - 1 700 mg/kg).
