Moderately immunogenic HPV16-associated tumours, MHC class I+ and class I-, were used to examine the adjuvant effects of IL-2 and dendritic cells for surgical therapy. It has been found that in both types of tumours recombinant IL-2 and IL-2 gene-modified vaccines substantially reduced the tumour recurrence rate and inhibited tumour growth. The dendritic cells were effective only in surgical therapy of MHC class I+ tumours.
