Adaptor protein TRIM preferentially interacts with the TCRvia the TCR-y and CD3-eg. Overexpression of TRIM cells results in enhancement of TCR expression and elevated induction of Ca(2+) mobilization. TRIM-mediated upregulation of TCR expression results from inhibition of spontaneous TCR internalization of TCR complexes on the cell surface. TRIM is a novel component of the TCR complex modulating the strength of TCR signals through regulation of TCR expression on the cell surface.
