Using a series of synthetic oligopeptides, we identified the epitope of MN/CA IX protein for monoclonal antibody M75 - it is PGEEDLP. This epitope ovelaps with the binding site for cell surface receptors. From phage display library of random heptapetideswe identified and synthesized those which compete for epitope with M75 and inhibit adhesion capacity of MN/CA IX for cells.
