In five vitiligo patients, autologous epidermal cells were obtained from pigmented thin skin biopsies. Thecells were cultured on a dried cell-free porcine dermis with the 3T3 feeder layer technique. Melanocytes wereregularly dispersed in confluent keratinocyte cultures. The epidermal layer was directly applied into the dermabraded vitiligo lesion with porcine dermis covering the lesion. The pigmentation started to be visible 4-6 weeks after grafting. UVA irradiation enhanced the treatmentsuccess up to 100
