    Sacrificial and depleting consumption of chain-breaking phenolic and aromatic amine antioxidants during plastics stabilization results in formation of quinone methides and quinone imines, respectively. These compounds absorb visiblelight and discolor the polymer matrix. Structures of discoloring compounds are given.
