The distribution of single aluminium atoms and aluminium pairs in the framework of zeolite MCM-22 was investigated using sodium and Co(II) ion-exchange and UV-Vis spectroscopy of Co(II) ions located in cationic positions at maximum Co loading in MCM-22 zeolite. Aluminium distribution between individual Al types in the MCM-22 structure depends on the framework aluminium content and conditions of zeolite synthesis.
