Critical survey of transition metal catalysts for polymerization of monosubstituted acetylenes. The applicability of W- and Mo-based metathesis as well as Rh- and Pd-based insertion catalysts is given with respect to (i) catalyst tolerance of heteroatom-containing substitutents in monomer and (ii) properties of produced polymers (molecular weight characteristics, microstructure, spectroscopic properties.
