The radial particle flux by fluctuations of the poloidal electric field and the density was measured in the edge region of the CASTOR tokamak. In contrast to the standard procedure involving cold probe floating potential measurements, here for the first time a double-emissive probe was used to determine the fluctuations of the poloidal electric field.
