    Mössbauer spectroscopy, TEM. electrical resistivitz and magnetic measurements are used for investigation of structural changes of X5CrNi189 austenitic stainless steel sheetinduced bz rf plasma nitriding. The initial structure of small grains of austenite and martensite changes after nitriding into expanded austenite close to the surface and austenite with minor ferrite/CrN in the bulk.
