The paper deals with the stochastic daily weather generator Met&Roll. Three modifications are considered to improve reproduction of interdiurnal and interannual variability. The effect of the modifications is tested by direct and indirect validation experiments. In indirect validation, the crop model CERES-Wheat and rainfall-runoff model SAC- SMAare employed.
