The Workshop was focused on trends in the mesosphere and ionosphere, but trends in the thermosphere, stratosphere and troposphere were treated, as well. The Workshop provided for the first time information on trends in the whole atmosphere-ionosphere system from the troposphere up to the maximum of the ionosphere. Some controversies between previous results have been solved. The role of anthropogenic and natural agents in trends has partially been separated. Refereed proceedings will be published in the Elsevier journal Physics and Chemistry of the Earth.
