Objektem statistického hodnocení bývají stále častěji data popisující objekty nejrůznějšího druhu rozmístěné v prostoru. Předmětem zkoumání jsou jednak objekty samotné, resp. jejich prostorové rozmístění, jednak jejich vnitřní struktura, rozmístění jejích komponent příp. jejich interakce.
