The paper gives a survey of methods and results related to a system of equations representing the momentum balance and energy balance in uniaxial evolution problems for thermoviscoelastoplastic materials with hysteretic constitutive laws of Prandtl-Ishlinskii type with a distribution function depending on temperature. The hysteresis energy dissipation plays a substantial role in the analysis.
