We investigated the effects of the astrocyte-directed inactivation of Cx43 (gap junctions forming connexin protein) on mouse behaviour and brain neurochemistry. Transgenic animals showed increased exploration in the open field and steeper learning course in water maze, they showed increased acetylcholine content in the frontal cortex.
