Study analyzes four differentiation protocols employing monolayer culture for their ability to in vitro produce cells with neural phenotype from mouse embryonic stem cells. It shows that the differentiating protocol involving 2 days of culture in a serum-containing media followed by culture in media with only insulin, transferrin, selenium, and fibronectin preferentially support the development of neural cells.
