    The concept of tradition includes social, cultural and other deep-rooted customs, manners and rules, which have been preserved and handed over to new generations. From the viewpoint of tourism their existence belongs to so called primary potential. Sociological survey within the project Strategy of sustainable development of the Šumava Biosphere Reserveö identified a broad range of traditions preserved in particular villages within the region.
