    An apparatus for (p,Vm,T) measurements of liquids and liquid mixtures was designed and tested. It operates in the temperature range 283 to 333 K and the pressure range 0.1 to 40 MPa with an accuracy in density of 1 10-4 g cm-3. Its main part is a high-pressure vibrating tube densimeter working in a static mode. The apparatus was used for measuring (p,Vm,T) of (heptane + 1-chloropentane). Excess molar volumes were calculated from the data and fitted to the Redlich-Kister equation. .
