Základní identifikace pigmentů nepostačuje k posouzení technické výstavby malířského díla, natož k posouzení jeho autentičnosti. Teprve kvalifikovaný výklad stratigrafie vrstev a popis jejich mikrostruktury opřený o správnou interpretaci výsledků různých analytických metod je zárukou, že materiálový průzkum přispěje k posouzení původu nebo pravosti malířského díla, a to jen v úzké součinnosti a spolupráci přírodovědců s restaurátory, uměleckými znalci a historiky. Navíc musí být podepřen systematickým sběrem srovnávacího materiálu. Rozmanitost forem, v nichž se může vyskytovat titan v barevné vrstvě, jen dokumentují nutnost vysoce kvalifikované práce a citlivého zacházení s výsledky.

Baseline identification of pigments is not sufficient for the description of technical style of painting and its authentication. Qualified interpretation of the stratigraphy of colour layers accompanied by the description of their microstructure is only able to help with the evaluation of origin and authenticity of the painting. Wide comparative database and close cooperation of scientists, restorers and art historians is always necessary. Diversity of forms, in which titanium occurs in nature, could be given as an example documenting the necessity of highly professional and sensitive approach to data within this research area.
