Hlavním předmětem zájmu Bourdieua v knize Nadvláda mužů je zkoumání toho, jaké mechanismy způsobují, že struktury dělení na základě pohlaví a principy tohoto dělení se staly víceméně všudypřítomnými. Odpověď Bourdieu hledá v tzv. somatizaci nadvlády, která je postavena na binarických opozicích. Jakákoli cesta ke změně bude muset vycházet ze změny ve vnímání. Recenzenka poukazuje na spojitost mezi kritikou binarity a stávající trrnegociací binarické opozice genderu ve zkoumání tzv. "třetího".

The main interest in La Domination Masculine is the study which mechanisms have caused that the structures of division based on the sex and principles of this division have become omnipresent. Bourdieu seeks an answer in the somatisation of dominance which is based on binary oppositions. Any path to a change will have to be based on a change in perception. The reviewer points to the relation between the criticism of binarism and the contemporary renegotiations of binary oppositions of gender in the study of "the third".
