Cílem semináře bylo představit transgenderovou problematiku zástupcům médií i široké veřejnosti. Jednotlivé příspěvky nastínily nejen každodenní těžkosti života transgenderů, ale také různé lékařské pohledy. Právní analýza osvětlila, že transgendři se potýkají s právní nejistotou vlastní existence, kterou si majoritní společnost těžko dokáže představit. Genderová analýza ukázala, že pohlaví se nedá redukovat na biologické aspekty či striktní definici mužského a ženského.

The objective of the seminar was to introduce the concept of transgenderism to the representatives of the media and general public. Individual papers outlined not only the daily difficulties faced by transgendered people but also various medical and sociological approaches. The legal analyses explained that transgendered people face legal insecurity of existence which the majority society can only hardly imagine. Gender analysis revealed that sex cannot be reduced to biological aspects or a strict definition of masculinity and femininity.
