The paper describes effect on elimination of granule cells of the rat dentate gyrus, induced by perinatal x-ray irradiation, on various types of spatial navigation. It employs a cluster of newly developed spatial tasks. The results suggest that idiothetic navigation may be less influenced than allothetic navigation by the lesion of the granular neurons.
