The study revealed a higher biocompatibility of fluorine ion-implanted polystyrene with vascular smooth muscle cells in culture. There was better adhesion, differentation and survival of cellswithout their excessive migration and proliferation. The ion-implantedpolystyrene provides a potentially usefull material for constructionof artifical medical vascular implants.
