Text je recenzí edice deníků významného českého šlechtice Adama mladšího z Valdštejna z let 1602-1633 a dvou průvodních studií editorů, Marie Koldinské a Petra Mati. Oceňuje pečlivost, s níž byla edice připravena (včetně několika druhů rejstříků), zejména však úsilí o inovativní včlenění tohoto, v české historiografii dosud spíše jen okrajově a ilustrativně užívaného pramene do kontextu studia raně novověké každodennosti a historické antropologie. Upozorňuje však i na metodologické a teoretické tápání, zejména v úvodní studii M. Koldinské, které vyplývá právě z průkopnického charakteru snažení obou editorů.

The text reviews the edition of a diary (1602-1633) of an outstanding Czech nobleman Adam the Junior of Valenstein, and two studies written by the editors, Marie Koldinská and Petr Maťa. A reviewer highly appreciates a careful editorial work (including the commentary and various types of indices), and above all, the effort to incorporate this kind of source, which has been studied by Czech historians only marginally, to those trends of recent research dealing with everyday life in the early modern period and to the issues of historical anthropology. The review, however, brings also attention to some unclear methodological and theoretical concepts, recognizable especially in the study of M. Koldinská, which are a consequence of the pioneer character of the editors' efforts.
