Úkolem sympozia bylo popsat problémy české emigrace při adaptaci v jinoetnickém prostředí. Zjišťovalo intenzitu a formy komunikace mezi emigranty a českou společností. Sborník představuje 44 příspěvky a výběr ze široké diskuse.

The description of the problems of teh Czech emigration by the adaptation process in the different surroundings was the main goal of the symposium organized in Prague in 1998. The other questions were: communication between the society of the Czech Republic and the participants of the political and economic emigration in the second half of the 20th century. The book contains 44 contributions.
