Nd:KGW thin films on YAG and MgO substrates at different deposition conditions were prepared. Crystallinity by X-ray diffraction and Microraman spectroscopy, composition of films by combination of Rutherford Backscattering Spectroscopy and Particle Induced X-ray Emission and fluorescence properties were studied. Influence of deposition conditions on film quality was discussed.
