    Thin nanocrystalline films of magnetite, maghemite, manganese and cooper ferrites were deposited on the glass substrates by magnetron sputtering. Oxidation of these films in air at temperatures of 300 to 450 řC brought about their transformation into the gamma phase spinels analogous to maghemite (z-Fe2O3).
