    A solid solution of (1-x)(Li2Mn4O8) x(Li1Fe5O8) for 0<x<1 has been investigated by Mössbauer spectroscopy at room temperature and at 80K. The saturated magnetic moment has been measured for x<0.6. The results are explained by a change of site preference of the Li ion from the tetragonal (A) siteaat x=0 to the octahedral (B) site at x=1.
