    This paper a field methodology is proposed for the study of ecophysiological responses of polar oxyphototrophic microorganisms adapted to low temperatures, to temperature increases and, through extrapolation, to climate warning. A special cultivation unit, consisting of a solid platform supporting a shallow polycarbonate pan with an electrically-heated mattres inside of a double bottom, was constructed and tested near the vinicity o Rabben station Ny-Alesund.
