    Cellular differentiation can play an important role in cell sensitivity to apoptotic stimuli. In the present study, effects of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)- and all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA)-induced differentiation on tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha)- and anti-Fas-induced apoptosis in human myeloid leukemia cell line were studied. It was shown that DMSO potentiates, while ATRA blocks TNF-alpha and anti-Fas-induced apoptosis, in a time dependent manner
