Using Yohkoh SXT data, we study several systems of transequatorial interconnecting loops (TILs), starting with the episode of March/April 1992. We show that active regions of the new solar cycle, located at high altitudes, can be connected across the solar equator by TILs as long as 61 heliographic degrees.
