Práce podává základní přehled o historii a současnosti evidence ochrany archeologických památek v České republice a o systematickém průzkumu a dokumentaci české historické krajiny pomocí letecké archeologie.
The paper brings a brief survey of archaeology in the Czech Republic at the turn of the 20th century. Special interest is focused on sites and monuments recording and protection and on the programme of aerial survey and air photography of the Czech historical landscape.
